School districts
Campbell Union High School District
The Campbell Union High School District (CUHSD) serves the communities of San Jose, Campbell, Saratoga, Santa Clara, Los Gatos and Monte Sereno. CUHSD operates six high school campuses: Branham, Del Mar, Leigh, Prospect, Westmont, and Boynton, as well as Campbell Adult and Community Education.
Campbell Union School District
The Campbell Union School District (CUSD) serves the communities of Campbell, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, San Jose, and Santa Clara. CUSD operates 13 schools (nine elementary schools, two middle schools, one TK-8 school, and one day school).
Cupertino Union School District
The Cupertino Union School District (CUSD) serves the communities of Cupertino, San Jose, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Saratoga, and Los Altos. The district operates 17 elementary schools (K-5) five middle schools (6-8), and one (K-8) school.
Fremont Union High School District
The Fremont Union High School District (FUHSD) serves the communities of Cupertino, Sunnyvale, San Jose, Los Altos, Saratoga, and Santa Clara. There are five high schools in FUHSD, as well as a community day school.
Lakeside Joint School District
The Lakeside Joint School District is a school district in both Santa Clara County and Santa Cruz County. Residents of this school district are zoned to high schools in the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District with the default high school being Los Gatos High School. The district partners with Loma Prieta Joint Union School District and Campbell Union School District to educate their middle school students at C.T. English and Rolling Hills Middle Schools, respectively.
Loma Prieta Joint Union School District
The Loma Prieta Joint Union Elementary School District operates one elementary school (Loma Prieta Elementary School) and one middle school (C. T. English Middle School). Residents of this school district are zoned to high schools in the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District.
Los Altos School District
The Los Altos School District serves the elementary and intermediate educational needs of Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View and Palo Alto. The district operates nine K-8 schools.
Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District
The Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District serves the communities of Saratoga, Monte Sereno, and Los Gatos. The district operates two high schools: Los Gatos High School and Saratoga High School.
Los Gatos Union School District
The Los Gatos Union School District serves the community of Los Gatos. The district operates five K-8 schools.
Mountain View Los Altos High School District
The Mountain View Los Altos High School District serves students in Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills. The district operates Los Altos High School and Mountain View High School, as well as the continuation school, Alta Vista High School, and adult school, MVLA Adult School.
Mountain View Whisman School District
The Mountain View Whisman School District serves students in Mountain View. The district consists of nine primary schools and two middle schools.
Palo Alto Unified School District
The Palo Alto Unified School District serves students in Palo Alto, as well as surrounding communities such as Stanford and Los Altos Hills. The district consists of twelve primary schools, three middle schools, two high schools, and an adult school.
San José Unified School District
The San José Unified School District serves TK-12 students in 41 schools from Downtown San Jose in the north to the Almaden Valley in the south.
Saratoga Union School District
The Saratoga Union School District serves residents of Saratoga, as well as Monte Sereno, and Los Gatos. The district has three elementary schools (Argonaut, Foothill, and Saratoga) and one middle school (Redwood Middle School).
Union School District
The Union School District operates six elementary schools (K-5) and two middle schools (6-8). Interestingly, the district is not a union school district under California law. In fact, it was named in honor of the Union Army when founded in 1863, during the American Civil War.
